I survived!

Four classes...Projects and exams in each one. I survived...and did pretty good. I also had to do an entrance exam to enter the "Sign Language Interpreter Program" and the examiner couldn't stop praising me when it was over. It was nice to have a cheerleader in my corner. It was also just what I needed to hear this week. I self doubt a lot, so her praises were the little "Umph" I needed to keep my going. I think I did pretty well on my exams. I keep checking the online blackboard but the professor hasn't updated the grades yet. I mean come on...we took the test nearly 6 hours ago!!

I'm cutting back my hours at work so that I can have Wednesdays off as well as my weekends. This should help with my "load" 16 credits of school and work was just too taxing on me. I'm very fortunate that my job is simply because I enjoy the work. Have I mentioned lately that I'm a lucky girl?

Football!

I love football season. It's not quite the same here in the south as it is back in Michigan. There is no slight chill to the air, No sweatshirts...but there is excitement. Most of my favorite teams lost this weekend. Only my Alma Mater pulled it out for a win. I haven't seen Central play this year and I won't...unless they make it to some obscure bowl game that is televised here in Jacksonville. Needless to say, I check the scoreboards regularly to see how the "Chips" are doing.

I grew up loving football. My dad was a high school band director which meant that every Friday night he was at the games. I usually went along and was babysat by the rowdies in the band who thought it was funny to teach me raunchy cheers. From there I moved on to being part of my own high school marching band and the traditions grew....and then college...I can't even begin to tell you how much fun game day was at CMU. Good times.....good times......

Funny how my love of music has brought me close to my love of football. ♥

Sunny Florida

81 F, 55% humidity...jealous? Well you should be. It's quite lovely here. It's supposed to be a little warmer this weekend but not much rain in the forecast. I'm hoping to head to the park and do some kite flying this weekend.

Addiction

The new Series 3 Tivo arrived at the house today. After a little cursing from Jerry and about three phone calls to the cable company the dual tuner DVR Tivo is up and working fine. Recorded both "The Office" and "Happy Hour" at the same time with no problems. Did we need a new Tivo box? Well....no...but I will admit we have a technology addiction. "Hi, My name is Jeanne and I'm a technojunkie!"

In other news, School is going good. I'm very very busy though. I'm going to cut back on my work hours because I am feeling like I'm not pulling my weight around the house enough. When I talk to Jerry about this, he is so sweet and says that everything is fine but I know better. I'm a lucky girl!

I'm thinking about doing a video blog in Sign Language soon. We'll see....

If you can dodge traffic.....

Sometimes mindless movies make me giggle. Dodgeball happens to be one of those movies. They play the song "Jump On It" and all I can think of is "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" where Will Smith dances with "Carlton". Again...giggles

That's one I really haven't even remotely wanted to see. I will have to wait until it comes on HBO or Starz before I see.

Yes...the Ocho...Jerry and I spent a night going thru all of our cable stations looking for something simular. *giggle*

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!!

We just got home from the Jaguar vs. Cowboys game. Jags won!! Despite the rain. I'm going to rant just a little bit. The woman who sang the National Anthem had a lovely voice but you couldn't sing with her because she used every artistic license with the tempo. It was really distracting because everyone singing was either way ahead of her or way behind. Oh well...Just a little pet peeve of mine.

Not much else going on around here. I'm very busy with work and school. Thank goodness I have plenty of time to do my homework at work. Otherwise it would cut into my MMO time.

Creative license with tempo is right up there with vibrato you can drive a truck through. :)

Litter Bugs

Isn't it bad enough that we drive along the roads and see Slurpee cups carelessly tossed from vehicles speeding down the roads. Now we are littering the moon. Surely there is a way to get the information they wanted without "trashing" the moon.

*cue alien with tear running down cheek*
