I can see

Got my new glasses today. I love the transitions although it wasn't really bright out today. Hopefully it will be bright and sunny tomorrow so I can really test them out. I was worried that they would be dark inside too but as you can see they aren't.

On the contact news, I also got new contacts but I'm not really a fan of them. They feel like a big bubble on my eye. I'm going to give them a few more days to see. I was hoping for something that doesn't dry out so quickly. I currenly have Softlens 66 but they feel gummy after 4 hours. These new ones (dont know that name..I know..my bad) make my eyes crawl after 2. Someone told me to ask for Acuvue Advanced but the doctors office was out of trials. Gah! Guess they'll just have to order some..right?

Love 'em!

You know what they say:

Men make passes at girls who wear glasses. :)

Oh, indeed! Glasses are the "nerdy-hot" must-have accoutrement.

And, I totally mean that in a good way. Tess wears glasses...H.O.T.

Borderline

That's the word they used on my field of vision test today. Perplexed I asked if that means that I have gotten worse. After a few minutes of flipping through my chart the Doctor said, "No". WHEW! A little history here. I have high ocular pressure which puts me at risk for glaucoma. Every year I get a field of vision test and they take a picture of my optic nerve. Fun fun...really it's not a big deal if it means I don't go blind. The good news is that nothing has changed since 2001 when I first went to this doctor. So I asked why they say "borderline" and the doctor said that it means that I just have that much more of a risk of developing glaucoma but so far nothing has moved that risk in six years.

In other eye news, I've ordered some new glasses with transition lenses. I'm also trying some new contacts because my other ones dry out easily. First day...they feel big on my eye. *shrug*

Let me know how you like those transitions lenses. I love the concept, but I'm afraid they won't lighten up enough when I'm inside.

Glad your eyes haven't worsened.

On the OTHER hand, don't glaucoma patients get to, like, smoke a lotta ganja?

Again: duuuuuuude!

$12.45

That's how much my class would cost each day if I had the chance to pay that way. (haha) Well..today class was cancelled, which disappointed me. After a week break I was ready to get back into something that I'm not comfortable with. I was ready for the challenge. For $12.45 I could have a nice lunch and a froo froo coffee but I didn't do that either. I remember back at CMU that would would have relished in the thought of class being cancelled. Now though..I find it a waste of my money. I'm paying to be taught and I'm not getting my moneys worth. I know...I'm insane.

So...the cruise. Just a few more details in cursory form.

Monday: Boarded the boat around noon and by 1pm had my hands around a "Drink of the day" laughing with my family.

Tuesday: Day at sea! I love the sea!

Wednesday: Windy, supposed to be in Key West but the weather was dangerous for the boat to enter the channel. So another day at sea. They did a great job with coming up with alternative activities to entertain the troops.

Thursday: Nassau. Been there did that so we spent the day on the boat. Man it was quiet! I love a quiet cruise ship.

Friday: BONUS! Because we didn't make Key West the captain slipped us into Freeport, Bahamas for about 6 hours. Chris, my brother, Jerry and I made our way to Lucaya where we perused the market and then headed over to the casino where Jerry and I each lost a dollar. I know..big spenders. Chris doubled his. Yup..a whole 2 dollars! WOO HOO!

Saturday: Back home to Jacksonville. We were off the boats and back in our little Bungalow by 11am. Tabitha was happy to see us.

I love cruising and if you have never been you are missing a wonderful and economical way to vacation.

Not only would we have been THRILLED at class being cancelled: think of all the Beast that $12.45 would have bought! That's, like, 2 cases, plus return!

Duuuuuuude.

We're home! A wonderful vacation was had by all. The pictures aren't great this year. I dunno...guess I'm not used to the new camera. *shrug* No one else really took pictures though so it is, what it is. The above pic was done using the panoramic feature on the camera...kinda cool. You can check the rest out here!

Monday it's back to reality.

40 and FAB!

Yup! It's true, today I turned forty. I have to say for a couple weeks leading up to my birthday I was a little sad about the time that has passed. I have been truly blessed in my life. I'm fairly healthy, have a loving husband, a supportive family, friends who are wonderful, and a cat who is..well...what can you say she is a cat.

I went to get my hair done this week and Mavity, my hairdresser, and I were talking about turning 40. She's got a couple of years to go. Anyway, we were talking that men get new cars, so what did woman get? Cosmetic surgery? No thanks! I'm not that wrinkly and I don't like pain. Then she giggled and said "Boyfriends". YIKES no...who needs that hassle?! Training one husband is challenging enough

Jerry did get me a Kodak V803 Digital Camera. I had been wanting a small camera that I could thrown in my purse and this one is perfect!

40...it's the new 30 right!?!

I'm a terrible housewife

I'm waiting for Maid Brigade to show up because I'm a terrible housewife. Yes..I hate cleaning, folding laundry (Don't mind throwing it in the washer/dryer it's the folding I find boring) and vacuuming sucks. (Pun intended) So when company is on the way I call on on Maid Brigade to come into my home and clean the heck out of it. Don't get me wrong..there are somethings I as a part time housewife like to do. I like cooking, I don't mind unloading the dishwasher but sometimes ask my darling husband for help with that. He takes care of the trash needs in the house, including the litter box. I'm a lucky girl! So anyway..I've gone around the house today picking up things that I don't want the maids to deal with. Isn't that funny that we have to clean before the maids show up? Heck, they have enough to deal with, without my socks on the living room floor. Thank goodness for Maid Brigade, now I just wish they would get here soon.

Ahhh, the hell with it. Consider the Maid Brigade an early birthday present. ;)

We all deserve a little outsourced spring cleaning once in a while.

One week

...from tomorrow and I'll be on the ship! I can't wait. I'm totally ready. Ok..I'm not. I have to clean my house because my parents are coming to my house a few days before we head to the boat..I mean ship.

I think I have a test this week in Interactive Interpreting I. Can't really study for it though because it's a receptive test. I guess I could watch Youtube all week...heh.

Oh yea..speaking of cleaning we took TONS of stuff to Goodwill today. Feels good to clear out somethings and help someone out. I'm sure we'll have more stuff to drop off before the week is out. Clearing the clutter is very cathartic!

Service Department

Sure..they service your car. But the customer service isn't what it used to be. Let me explain. I took my car in this morning approximately at 11:20am because I had an Oil light coming on in my car. The woman there told me it would be a while and I would need to leave my car. Fine..I'll catch the courtesy van and head home. Tick tock..tick tock..finally at 4pm I decided to call about my car because I know that the courtesy vans stop running at 5pm. They had just looked at my car. Not finished..but just now got done with the diagnostic. So after going around and around what was wrong she told me that the earliest my car could be ready for me was 9am tomorrow morning. WHAT?!? Why couldn't she have told me this at 11:20am?! So at the mercy of the "Service Department" I'm car less until I get a call tomorrow. Which after discussing things further with them, won't be until hopefully around 1 or 2pm tomorrow. UGH! I can't wait to get the customer service survey for this.

Anyone know a good mechanic in Jax? I'm done taking it to the dealership. This is twice I have been treated poorly.

Ugh...

I am trying to have a happy Thursday but it is getting tough. The weather isn't happy it all. Very gloomy here in Jacksonville, FL.

Work was not fun today. First of all they closed the woman's bathrooms so I couldn't go all morning. That wasn't fun. I think it's illegal but whatever. Then when it was time for me to leave I was stuck on a call. I kept thinking it was going to end so I didn't call for relief. 20 minutes after I was supposed to leave I finally asked for relief so I could leave.

At home, things are okay. I had some homework to do. The homework was to listen to a speaker, immediately repeat what is being said and while I'm doing that I was supposed to write the Pledge of Alligence. OMG! I suck, I couldn't even get the first paragraph out. Talk about frustrating. My brain is mush right now. I'm suprised I could even type this out. So now I get to drive to school and sit for two hours and forty five minutes of lecture/signing. I hope I don't fall into a stupid coma because of my mushy brain.

Chin up, buckaroo! At least it's not in the teens for a temp and the wind isn't howling. Will spring ever come to MI?
