Packed

Bags are packed, just have to grab the toiletries in the morning and we are set to go. The plan is to leave the house around noon and hit the boat around 12:30. So nice to live in a port town!

Roast is in the Crock Pot

Mom and Dad are on their way here. They should be here in a couple of hours, traffic providing. The house is clean, their beds are made and the roast is cooking as we speak. I know they had some traffic problems yesterday and had to make a detour, hopefully today it was clear driving.

Monday we board the boat. I'm excited. I need this vacation more than I thought. I looking forward to reading for pleasure. The salt air....the crash of the waves...man oh man I love it!

Change

It's a good thing! I just got a call from the people I interviewed with last week and pending a background check, I'm in! Really not worried about a background check as I have nothing to hide and my credit is good. Thankfully college days there were no official reports

Directions

Where am I going? How long will it take? These are a few of the questions that I've been asking myself this week. I tend to do this around my birthday every year. I guess it's kind of a way for my to check myself that I haven't wandered off. Five more weeks of school and I'm feeling like I should have a job already lined up, but I don't. I have my application in with the school district but they aren't doing any hiring until just before next years school year.

God, I hope I get it.
I hope I get it.
How many people does he need? - Chorus Line

In other random things. An online friend shared a link that cracked me up. I guess the link is really funny to me because I'm so terrible with listening to songs and what they are saying. So clicky here!

I hope you get that job, too. They would be fools to not hire you. :)

I am a Rock Deity!

hehe, or at least Guitar Hero says I will become one...Jerry bought me Guitar Hero III for my birthday. It's a blast but I just got boo'd off the stage three times! Too funny!

I really need to find my Wii Number to give to people so that my little Mii can travel to visit.

So far 41 is alright!

The Wire

For anyone who has missed this series on HBO, run to your nearest DVD Rental/Purchase store and check it out. I have to warn you that it is full of violence, profanity, nudity, drug use, etc. However, it is real. Too real. Scary real. Every season I think, "Ok, they can't keep this up...this isn't how life really is." But I read the news, and sure enough the stories are there. David Simon isn't afraid to put it out there, and thankfully HBO is a great place for his work.

Jerry brought home Season One yesterday and we watch the first few episodes...Good Stuff! Fun to go back and see how it all began!

I can do it myself!

I hate going to the doctor. I think sometimes it's a waste of money and if I just tough it out I'll be just fine. This time was different. I'm really glad I went because I have a few infections that need to be knocked out before the cruise. The ones in my ears especially. I don't need to already be having balance problems and then try to get my sea legs. Although it would be fun to see. I'm on day 3 of taking medicine and am feeling a little better but still not 100%. I am taking a break from the internship the rest of this week to help with the recuperation. It's been an odd semester with colds/flu and now this.

It's supposed to be 82° on Saturday! I'm hoping to get outside a little and let the sunshine do it's thing!

Spring Forward

I hate losing anything, so for me to lose an hour of time annoys me. Sure, I know that I get it back in the fall but that is far away. This is going to take me a week to adjust to. Guess I just need to suck it up.

My internship is on my mind this weekend. Some of my classmates need hours so they are wanting my intern spot. I really don't want to leave it yet as I want to keep practicing my skill until the test. I don't mind cutting back my hours even more if needed but I really don't want to leave all together. I guess I really need to sit down with my Intern advisor and hash things out. How fun for me....

Maybe your advisor can come up with something else for you to keep up your skills.

lingering

My cold/flu is lingering. I'm tons better but just not 100%. I'm tired of resting though. I want to get out there and do something. The weather today though will keep me in. Rainy with a few thundershowers. Ok..so I don't really want to go out in that. I do have plenty of things to do around the house. It's a mess. Actually mess is too nice of a word for the condition of the house.

So what else...My internship is officially over but I'm still hanging around the middle school. I want to keep my interpreting practice up until the test in May. The biggest issue is that other people need hours and want my spot that I don't really want to give up. I guess I'll talk to my mentors next week about it. Makes me sad to think I won't see those kids for the rest of the year.

23 days until Spring Break and the cruise. YAY!

Better

I think I'm getting better because last night I was able to go to bed without using NyQuil.

I don't think I've mentioned my Monday night class much this semester. I'm not a really big fan of the class but last night I think the professor and the class came to an understanding and that a better way for me of learning will now be put in action. The class is pretty close knit and to sign infront of each other is no big deal. Well...to me it's not. It might be to others. Anyway, I actually happy-ish about this class now. Let's hope it wasn't a fluke night.

I still miss the Nyquil with the good ol' pseudoephedrine in it. It's just not the same, but it will do in a pinch. :)

Glad you're feeling better.

Convalescing

This past week has been a rough one. Sore throats, fevers, and now my ears are full and I can't hear very well. I'm doing better then I was a week ago but still not 100%. I'm hoping by midweek I'm doing better.

Tomorrow will be rough but with my Aleve-D Sinus and Cold and some nose spray I'll get through it one way or another. Yes, I had to give all my information to buy this wonderful medicine. Does anyone ever really look at those paper logs of people buying these drugs? They need to come up with a better plan than having me write down all my information and checking it against my Drivers License. And what stops me from going to the dozen stores in my area and buying more of the same type of medicine? Waste of paper..not very green at all!

Remember me saying that if I could find my Method soap that would again stick it to Target? Well as I was wandering around Publix, I found that they now carry the hand soap. HURRAY Publix! Yes..I know this is odd to get so excited about but it's the little things that keep me going.

Another little fun thing was I discovered a fun show on the SciFi channel called Destination Truth. The host Josh Gates is snarky and sarcastic and they really never get any truth. I totally got hooked into a marathon today as I continued to rest.
