I have been trying to be more aware of the environment and behave in a more green way of life.  I try to remember my reusable totes when I shop. I even started taking them to Target. This is great because they give you 5¢ back for each bag you bring. Today we got 20¢ back on our purchase. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot but it’s something.

Another way is we are trying to frequent businesses in our neighborhood.  This “going local” mindset has made us try some new restaurants nearby. So far we haven’t been disappointed. Sure, some are better than others but for the most part, no duds.  I want my neighborhood to thrive, so that means I need to be a better citizen and try it locally.  Most of the local places are less expensive than the chains, so that is an added bonus.

Sure, you’ll still find me wandering around Best Buy and Target, but I like saving gas, and money by trying to be more local.
