Tried my hands at making homemade split pea with ham soup. The ham bone from the Christmas ham was just begging to become yumminess!
After two hours of simmering the ham bone was clean.The aroma was amazing.
….the soup….is thin. I put too much liquid. It is still pretty yummy. Thin…..but delicious. I think my mistake was thinking I needed to cover the entire ham bone.
This experiment won’t deter me from trying to make split pea with ham soup again. Hopefully my next batch will be yummier!
